At non Chionides Eumolpus in Orphea talis,
in Phryga nec Satyrum talis Olympus erat,
praemia nec Chiron ab Achille talia cepit,
Pythagoraeque ferunt non nocuisse Numam.
Chionian Eumolpus was not such to Orpheus,
nor Olympus to Marsyas, the Satyr of Phrygia,
nor did Chiron receive such a prize from Achilles,
nor did Numa, they say, harm Pythagoras.
